Privacy
DataPad works on your machine. Your scripts, your connections and your results stay there unless you connect an optional service. This page explains what those optional features send and where they send it.
Your work
Scripts, connections and settings are stored on your device, and the workbench and the grid work offline. WebF1 does not receive or analyze your scripts, your connection strings or your query results.
Database connections
When you run a script, DataPad connects directly from your machine to the database you configured, under your own credentials. The database server receives the queries you run; WebF1 is not in the path and never sees the connection string or the results.
Connection encryption and backup
Encryption is optional and off by default. When you enable it, the stored connection strings are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM and only you hold the phrase, so a copied store is unreadable without it. Backup copies the app data folder to a destination you choose; the copy is yours, and if the store was encrypted it stays encrypted.
NuGet packages
When you search for or resolve a NuGet package, DataPad contacts the NuGet registry from your machine. The registry sees the package queries you make, under your network connection, not through WebF1.
AI agents and the MCP server
The local Model Context Protocol server is off by default and, when enabled, listens only on 127.0.0.1 - it is unreachable from the network. Every request must carry the bearer token the Settings section shows, and you control which scripts an agent may read and which tools are on. An agent you connect runs under your own configuration.
No account required
WebF1 DataPad does not require a WebF1 account, and this website does not serve ads or third-party analytics.
Licensing
Activating or validating a licence may involve minimal internet contact, strictly to validate the licence. WebF1 never reads or transmits your scripts, your database contents or your connection details.
